Our Fanatic Strategic Planning and Insight team are already telling us about pre-season new tech trends and changes in football fan behaviour for the season ahead. We’re going to see the arrival of second gen Fantasy Football gaming, a continued shift in broadcast rights and after years of over promise – in stadia Wi-Fi tech is finally going to be cracked. Just some of the things that are shaping our creative ideas for the season ahead.
One of the things we are going to see is good old fan participation taken to new levels with the adoption of platforms like Periscope and dynamic new web based apps. Fan passion isn’t restricted by national boundaries and forward thinking clubs like Manchester City are running programmes such as the ‘Cityzen’ and using technology to get a global fan-base closer to their heroes.
Last year we used our unique fan insight to help shoot TV ads featuring Manchester United heroes in the Middle East. We built a series of live brand experiences for Nike Football and enjoyed every step of the UEFA Champions League ‘Legendary Moments’ campaign. Manchester City invited us to Ethiad to deliver a seminar on best practice to their global partners and it was great to see our work with Samsung road testing so well with Juventus.
Right now we are out there tracking pre-season fan rituals, dress codes and behaviours across Europe to help us produce some incredible campaigns and activations for the season ahead. There have been some huge deals signed in the last couple of weeks both in the Premierships and internationally and we are expecting some very exciting campaigns in the next few months.
Just can’t wait until the whistle blows and it all starts again…
