UEFA app goes live to over 20 million people

This week, the UEL Selfie Football Sticker App, developed in partnership with UEFA, went live to over 20 million people.

As part of the promotional campaign for the 2014/15 Europa League, Ear to the Ground were asked by UEFA to develop a fun, branded app to help them connect with fans and generate more excitement in the lead up to the Final in May. In partnership with UEFA, we developed the UEL Selfie Football Sticker App, which allows fans to create personalised digital football stickers to show their support for their favourite Europa League teams. By sharing stickers on social media using #UELSticker, fans can also win a “money can’t buy experience” – tickets to the Final and a chance to play on the pitch themselves!

With the Final just three months away and excitement building, the app went live this week, launching to over 7 million people via UEFA’s newsletter as well as being pushed via UEL social channels to a cumulative audience of 12 million fans. In an additional push, the app also prominently features in a special Europa League pull-out in today’s Daily Telegraph, reaching an audience of over 1 million readers. Meanwhile, all Europa League clubs have been pushing the app too via their own social channels to help drive further awareness and excitement around the final.

 In the first 48 hours 41,512 Selfie Stickers were created and shared
