On Saturday night UEFA ‘Legendary Moments’ campaign will reach its Berlin climax. We have spent the last six months helping UEFA unlock a global fanbase with new digital platforms, fan experiences and fan-centric content across Europe. With just over a week to go Facebook has recorded over 5M views for our behind-the scenes branded edits to get fans closer to the ‘Legendary Moments’ of the competition.
First stop for our content team was host city Berlin, where we filmed footage of the iconic Champions League Trophy as it toured the streets, revealing the winning installations of UEFA’s social media-driven #LegendaryMoments competition. We followed the trophy touring the home cities of the four semi-finalists. From the diehard fans chanting in the streets outside the stadium, to the deafening roar following the final whistle, we documented the incredible atmosphere at each match to create four unique Semi-Final films. It was a celebration of fan passion at its peak in the football devoted cities of Barcelona, Munich, Turin and Madrid.
This week, we will be back in Berlin to capture the emotion of the fans of Juventus and Barcelona as they battle at the iconic Olympiastadion. The following day we will be pitch-side as fan competition winners from across the globe step into the boots of their idols to take part in their very own ‘Fan’s Final’. Imagine walking out onto the pitch to the iconic music of Champions League just hours after Messi, Neymar, Tevez and Pirlo and experience your own ultimate ‘Legendary Moment’.
Once again it’s been an incredible journey for Ear to the Ground and a pleasure to help the ambitious team at UEFA really push big integrated ideas that capture the magnitude of this tournament and connect with a global fan-base.
